David Levenson
Born in Detroit, Michigan, David Levenson attended Wayne State University and then moved to Chicago in 1980 to continue his studies at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Mostly self taught, Levenson throughout his art career has painted portraits, baseball related scenes and done occasional mural and backdrop work. His most recent output of the past few years has become decidedly more personal.
"Lately I've been attempting to say in paint and canvas what I think about myself in relation to the state of this current new environment we are living through. I'm finding when I'm painting quietly and patiently the work is even more enjoyable and rewarding than ever, and the the most interesting way for me to express my observations and own contradictions- especially in this 'golden age' of constant yapping!"
